YOGI GUIDE

We ask all members of the JBY community to be mindful of the Yogi Guide below so that each student will enjoy a peaceful and safe yoga practice. We look forward to practicing yoga together.

What to wear, what to bring

Dress in comfortable work-out clothing.  Wearing clothing designed to dry sweat will improve your experience.

Bring a yoga mat, a bottle of water, and a small hand towel. Heated classes can get sweaty.

We have 2 showers. If you plan on showering, please bring a towel.

Respect the other yoga students and the studio by maintaining good hygiene, bathing, and wearing clean clothes.  Please do not wear scents like perfume or cologne.

Stay for the whole class & enjoy the benefits of your practice in savasana.  If you need to leave early, please let the teacher know before class and pick a spot near the door.  Please leave before savasana to be mindful of the other students.

Don’t worry if you forget anything, we have yoga mats, water & towels available at the front desk for $2.

Arriving for class

If you are new to JBY, welcome!

Arrive 10-15 minutes before your first class.  Always sign in at the front desk to let us know your here. Use the time to get acquainted with our space, use the restroom, and to find your perfect place in the room for your mat.

Our studio is a sacred space, please remove your shoes before entering the yoga room.

Keep your cellphones & belongings in the lockers. Bring a lock, otherwise it’s really safe in the studio.

Practicing on an empty stomach is easier than practicing on a full stomach. No heavy meals 2 hours before class. A piece of fruit or handful of nuts works well if you’re starving.

If you are injured, pregnant, or have other medical conditions, please notify the yoga teacher before class. This helps the teacher assist you and provide modifications.
