Compassion Cultivation Training – CCT©

What is Compassion Cultivation Training?

Compassion Cultivation Training – CCT© is an eight-week course developed in the Center for Compassion and Altruism Research and Education (CCARE) at Stanford University’s School of Medicine. The program is designed to develop the qualities of compassion, empathy, and kindness for oneself and for others. Compassion Cultivation Training is an educational program designed to help you improve your resilience and feel more connected to others—ultimately providing an overall sense of well-being. CCT integrates traditional contemplative practices with contemporary psychology and scientific research on compassion. The CCT protocol was developed at Stanford University by a team of contemplative scholars, clinical psychologists, and researchers.

In this course, students will learn how to:

  • Increase kindness and compassion for themselves and others.

  • Develop profound levels of serenity, resilience, and creativity.

  • Calm the mind and direct thoughts more positively.

  • Sharpen their ability to focus and pay attention.

  • Access a variety of self-care skills and techniques.

 The resulting benefits are:

  • Enhanced ability to feel compassion for oneself and others.

  • Increased calmness and ability to handle stressful situations.

  • Better engagement and communication in relationships.

  • Self-evaluation and mindfulness when feeling overwhelmed.

  • Increased job satisfaction and decreased job overwhelm.

  • A more pleasurable, nurturing life at home or with family.

Who participates in Compassion Training?

CCT is designed to support anyone who wants to cultivate compassion for themselves and for others. This includes parents, caregivers, educators, healthcare professionals, therapists, executives, public servants, and people in a wide range of professions and life contexts.

Scientific studies suggest that a kind and compassionate attitude can greatly reduce the distress we feel in difficult situations and become a profound personal resource in times of stress. Through instruction and the interactive nature of the processes incorporated in this course, you will have opportunities to cultivate new ways in which to access, recognize, and strengthen compassion and empathy − as a default response to the ever-present challenges that characterize our human experience.

This course is eligible for 14 CE credits for Psychologists, LCSWs, LPCCs, LEPs, LMFTs, and Nurses. For more information, contact Lineth at info@genuinecompassion.com.

This class is limited to 30 people.
