Angie, a true native of the Bay Area, was born and raised in San Francisco.  She moved to the Santa Clara in 2003 as one of the first residents in Rivermark. She began practicing Bikram yoga in 2001 and found that 110F heat allowed her body to deepen into poses, and the fixed sequence made it possible to see her practice improving.  During the 8 years of practicing Bikram yoga, work travel made it difficult to have a consistent yoga practice. Transitioning back to yoga practice in a 110F room after traveling felt disparaging. She felt this practicing wasn’t making her happy anymore so she was in search for another style of yoga.

When Angie first experienced gently-heated Vinyasa Flow, she was hooked.  Heated Vinyasa Flow provided variety from fixed sequences (downward dog is amazing!) with enough heat to deepen into the body. It was pure bliss to be in calming headstand practices and challenged with arm balancing poses.

During a period of reflecting on her life of work and travel, Angie decided she needed to  create a more balanced and solid foundation. With support from her family and the yoga community in Rivermark she opened Just Breathe Yoga in 2010.

“Our service as yoga instructors is not only about guiding students into yoga poses, but to empower them to be in their own mind and body with ease & peace. Yoga doesn’t choose you, you choose yoga. Yoga practice is a path, and for some of us, a lifelong journey of self-realization and self discovery towards a happier and more meaningful life.”

Angie shares this life enhancing experience of yoga with her students by teaching from her own practicalities in life, learned experiences, and her own yoga journey.  She hopes to encourage, nurture, inspire, and empower students to find happiness and gratitude in every moment of each day.
